Privacy policy

AI Math Tutor, listed on the App Store as AI MathMaster ("the app"), is developed by Viral Tandel, trading as Viral Labs. This policy explains what information the app collects and how it is used. The short version: there is no account, your solve history lives on your device, and a problem leaves the device only to be solved.

Information we collect

Math problems you submit. Text you type or paste, and photos you take or choose, are sent to our server (a Cloudflare Worker we operate) and on to an AI provider to produce the solution. In the free tier a photo is first sent to an OCR service to extract the text; in AI Math Pro the image itself is sent to the AI model. The problem and the image are used only to produce your solution. Our server keeps no copy of the problem, the image or the answer once the response has been returned to your device.

Stored on your device only. Your solve history (capped at the most recent solves), calculator state, onboarding state and preferences. This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you delete the app. History can be cleared at any time in Settings.

Camera and photo library. The app asks for camera access only when you choose to scan a problem, and for photo-library access only when you choose to pick a photo. Nothing is read from your camera or photos otherwise.

No accounts. The app has no sign-in and no cloud sync. We do not collect your name, email address or any identifier that links solves to you.

Purchases

The app uses RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. When you make a purchase, RevenueCat receives a transaction identifier and an anonymous app user ID to validate and manage your purchase. See RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy. Payment is processed entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details.

Advertising

The free tier may show ads served by Google AdMob. iOS asks your permission before any identifier is used for personalized ads, and you can decline; ads still show but are not personalized. See Google's advertising privacy information at policies.google.com/technologies/ads. AI Math Pro removes ads.

Third-party services

The app relies on: Apple (payments and app distribution), RevenueCat (subscription management), Cloudflare (hosting of our API and this website), the AI providers our server calls to solve problems (currently OpenAI for Pro solves and DeepSeek for free solves), an OCR service for free-tier photo reading (OCR.space) and Google AdMob (ads in the free tier). Each receives only what is needed for its job: the problem text or image for solving, transaction data for purchases, and advertising identifiers only with your consent.

We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention and deletion

All app data is stored on your device and is deleted when you delete the app. Problems and photos are processed transiently: our server forwards them to the provider, returns the result to your device, and retains nothing. Providers process the content under their own policies to deliver the response.

Children's privacy

The app is rated 4+ on the App Store and is used by students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13: there is no account and no profile. Parents who have questions can email us.

Your rights (GDPR and CCPA)

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is usually nothing for us to access, correct or delete on request. If you believe we hold something, email us and we will respond in line with GDPR and CCPA.

This website

This site is static. It has no login, no sign-up and no forms. Two analytics tools may load on these pages, only after your first scroll or tap, and only when an id is configured: Google Analytics counts page views and link clicks in aggregate, and Microsoft Clarity records anonymous usage (scrolling, clicks, a replay of movement through the page) with page text masked. Clarity sets cookies on this domain and on Microsoft's own domains, including a Microsoft advertising identifier that Microsoft syncs with Bing; Microsoft describes that data and how to opt out in the Microsoft Privacy Statement. The App Store links on this site pass through a redirect on our own domain so we can see which page sent you, and nothing else. None of this applies to the app itself.

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with the date above.
